Braiding
The practice of braiding manes goes back several centuries. Traditionally, these braids were to keep hair from tangling in a harness or farming equipment, or in the weapons or reins of a mounted soldier or hunter. Today, braiding is primarily seen at competitions, and is viewed as a sign of respect for the judges, and completes the picture of a well-turned out horse. There are many styles and types of braids, some of which are breed or discipline specific, and others more universal.
We offer a variety of options for the modern dressage horse. All of our braids are sewn-in using high-quality thread or yarn for extra security and durability, and we work with manes of any length or thickness, and horses of all ages, including foals.
